A display full of sunshine!! #winnerswearred

Yateley 3-0 Marlow

The Ladies 1s took on Marlow on Saturday with a squad unfortunately hit by a variety illness and injury. This performance though showed the depth currently in the squad and another win never looked in doubt.
YHC started strongly and Hannah was firing in shots from the top of the D in the opening minutes (our next target is to make the most of the fire-power up front and convert more of these chances!) Marlow thought they may have some inside knowledge but they were not sure how to close down the attacks that often started deep in the YHC defence. Cara and Clara formed a great partnership at CB and Marlow rarely troubled the YHC D.
The relentless YHC pressure soon showed with several corners in quick succession and Hannah converted one of these with a powerful strike within the first 10 minutes. Despite lots of pressure, Yateley could not find the back of the net for the remainder of the first half.

YHC came out in the second half against a very determined Marlow but the defensive line of Caz, Clara, Cara, Kate and Jen cleared up loose balls and played confidently around the back. Gill was as cool as ever in goal for Yateley and nothing was getting past her! Na and Hannah combined well in the middle to frustrate the Marlow midfield and Becks, Caty, Nat and Ellen worked so hard up-front to put pressure on the Marlow defence.

The constant Yateley pressure soon paid off and a great move out of defence saw Kate send the ball into the D. The ball suddenly came free and Nat managed to get a stick to push the ball over the line. The third goal was a real team effort and an excellent finish – Jen played the ball to Kate who played an excellent, hard ball across the D for Nat to deflect past the keeper.

Another great team performance from Yateley and another 3 points to keep them very much at the top end of the table.
