Yateley 7-0 Bicester

The Ladies 1s were keen to keep building on their undefeated run in the league so far when they took on Bicester 1s at home on Saturday.

YHC played some fantastic hockey in the opening few minutes with the ball being switched confidently around the back. Attendance at training has been high and the effort put in at training was clearly evident in the hockey that was played.

Bicester struggled to cope with the YHC pressure and it was only a few minutes in when Caty scored from close range.

It was fairly one-way traffic in the rest of the first half with several corners being won and YHC causing all sorts of issues for Bicester in defence. Jen scored with a well taken strike that nearly left a hole in the back-board to make the score 2-0 to YHC. Corner practice is paying off and Hannah got her second of the season for her new club with a well-rehearsed corner routine. A similar routine then saw Kealey jump onto a save from the GK to make the score 4-0 to YHC ta half-time.

Bicester certainly were not giving up though and came out stronger in the second-half. However, Ruth somehow managed to pick a deflected ball high out of the air and slot it in for a 5-0 score line. Becks followed soon after and Caty got the final goal of the game to give YHC a 7-0 win.

The score line could have been even more and the ladies put 100% effort into every element of the game. It was a clinical performance from Yateley and they sit undefeated at the top of the table after 4 games.
