Yateley fell to a narrow 3-2 defeat against Windsor in a hard-fought encounter, despite taking an early lead through two well-executed short corners.
The hosts got off to the perfect start when Willy’s strike from a short corner took a deflection off a Windsor defender’s foot and flew into the roof of the net. Yateley’s second came from another well-worked set-piece, as Danno and Pete De Lange combined smartly before Pete slotted home to double the advantage.
However, Windsor responded before the break, pulling a goal back to shift the momentum in their favour. Yateley came out strong in the second half, but as the game wore on, tired legs began to take their toll. Windsor capitalised, scoring twice to complete the comeback and take all three points. The only booking of the match came in the second half when Zac (Yateley) was shown a green card for dissent.
A frustrating result for Yateley after such a strong start, but plenty of positives to take into the next fixture.
