Yateley 3s ended 3 game streak without a win by battling past Amersham 6ths 4-3
On an overcast day Yateley started brightly with some good pressure in their opponents half and some nice steals. This pressure paid off with a goal from veteran goal poacher stu brimble, a nice pass into the d was deflected passed the keeper and then bundled in from a yard out.
Just before the break Amersham got an equaliser to leave it 1-1 at half time.
Despite a sterling team talk from Captain Willy at half time yateley fell a goal behind following some nice play from the opponents midfield who had proofed tough. This goal motivated yateley and in particular the young guns in midfield. Yateley moved the ball much earlier and were a true match for their older counter parts. This pressure lead to a short corner. Yateley finally started using the top d options with a lovely right ramp played in by danno finished off by brimble.
The excellent pressure continued with a nice move by the inners and right forward finish off by brimble to complete his hatrick. Shortly afterwards more good play resulted in another short corner. Another move to top d and a rifled shot from danno put yateley 4-2 up.
Amersham managed a late consultation goal but Yateleys defence and keeper were able to keep the door firmly shut and the team ran out 4-3 winners.
Beers were drunk in celebration thanks to Man of the Match Brimbles hatrick jug. Dod went to Byron who learned its best to keeps thoughts of taking out people's legs to himself.
