Yateley 2-9 Fleet & Ewshot
The U16's boys took on top of the league and unbeaten, F&E this Sunday after the YHC mini's festival in the bitter cold..
After an 11-0 defeat in the away match, we knew this was going to be a tough one, and with only a 12 man team, the boys knew they had to work extra hard. Due to availability, we had to play some people out of their normal positions, but this did not phase them.
The boys went on the pitch, today being led by captain Fred, to start the match after having a positive and encouraging team chat from Darren Collins, our Mens 1's captain, who came to support them.
The 1st half saw a flurry of goals from the oppo, and the boys managed to push 2 past the F&E keeper as well, defying them of a 2nd clean sheet against us. Macca and Owen were the goal scorers for Yateley.
Sammy the GK pulled out some incredible saves, and really kept the score line down for the boys. We eventually left the first half at 7-2.
After another tactical and positive half time team talk, the boys went out fighting even harder than before, and this really paid off. They were lucky not to convert any further goals, and unluckily let just only 2 in... Finishing off the 2nd half at 2-0, but the final score 9-2.
MOM was 100% Sammy, for an outstanding performance, and keeping his composure and natural Sammy calm throughout.
Well fought boys - It wasn't easy, but you did us all proud ?
